1930'S WALLIGRAPH RADIALITE SCISSOR LAMP PAIR MANUFACTURED BY WALTER GRAFTON & SON OF ELTHAM, LONDON. |
||||
British industrial lamps produced under the 'Walligraph' brand name in Eltham, London by Walter Grafton & Sons from the 1930's-60's. These wall mounted 'RADIALITE" lamps were beloved of engineers and draughtsmen, the scissor mechanism gives enormous reach and can be folded away after use. The earlier models, of which these are examples, where produced from steel with an anodised copper finish which aids the lamps smooth scissor action as well as preventing corrosion of the moving parts. These lamps show a degree of patination to the metal where the paint has worn revealing the attractive copper finish beneath and the cast iron of the wall mounts. The enamelled steel shades are in good condition both with a glossy finish and just a few nibbles to the rolled edges.New earthed standard bayonet bulb holders, black braided cable and plugs have been fitted, all other parts are original including the wire cable holding clips allowing for easy extension as the lamp is adjusted. P.A.T tested prior to dispatch.
