1970's Trub Telephone by Gfeller.
Machined from solid Rosewood.
This is only the second of these wonderfully tactile phones we have ever sourced. Originating from the Gfeller company of Switzerland in the early 70's, the combination of sleek, streamlined styling and solid hardwood with a pronounced grain make it a real pleasure to handle.
It is hard to believe that such a contemporary shape has been machined from a solid piece of hardwood (we believe this to be the Rosewood, although Cherry was also available). The contrasting push button numbers have distinctive matt gold covers, whilst the handset rests in its cradle on a pair of small leather pads. This may not offer the convenience of a hands free set but we think that for a phone with this much style it is a sacrifice well worth making.
Its distinctive design and high quality materials make this one of the few telephones we can think of that has retained its good looks and increased its value over the last four decades. It has even been dubbed by some as 'The world's sexiest telephone'.
*This telephone comes tested and complete with a standard BT compatible telephone cable.
