An exceptional quality cast brass counter bell, manufactured by William Tonks & Sons of Moseley Street, Birmingham in the early 1900's used to call for service at hotel reception desks, shop counters etc.

The turned, cast brass base is weighty and stable, supporting the fine spun steel dome and clanger on a push operated mechanism that operates smoothly. The bell chimes loudly with a lovely clear resonant tone.

Makers name and star /sun trademark impressed on underside of base.
