"SIMANCO' ISSUE LIGHTING ACCESSORY

SIMANCO is a contraction of Singer Machine Company & is stamped on every piece of equipment that Singer produced for professional use. Always sturdily engineered, Singer knew that a SIMANCO item was destined for a daily grind, each item (and often each component) is stamped with it's part/serial number.

This sewing-machinist's task lamp is made from beautifully machined steel components holding a moulded Bakelite shade and bulb holder with integrated on/off switch. Thankfully the Bakelite is in excellent condition (Bakelite of this age is often brittle & crumbly) with it's original "Singer" water transfer branding on the lamp body. We have stripped it down to the last screw before polishing all the electrical contacts and switching parts and rebuilding it with new cable and a new LED filament bulb. These are very efficient & run cool which will help prevent the Bakelite from perishing.

The professional sewing machine it would have originally been paired with is long gone so we have mounted the lamp's column to a heavy Surface Guage (of contemporaneous vintage) making it very stable and giving it huge adjustablity. A great reading lamp.
