Early Vintage Dugdills Lamps.
Two in stock one in original paintwork, one polished finish.
Dugdills produced some of the earliest of the lamps we describe as "Machinist's" lamps, for illuminating lathes, bench presses and other tools of the engineering trade.
Dugdills lamps have hollow tubular arms, splitting at the ends to form the joints. These lamps also have a distinctive brass 'collar' near the base of the upper arm section allowing rotation above.
Shades are enamel or spun alloy held at the end of an adjustable neck bracket, this allows for minute adjustment of the lamp holder within the shade.
We have two of these lamps in current stock:
Lamp 1.
Two arm section in original worn grey/blue paint finish on circular cast iron base with decorative concentric rings. Glossy green enamel shade. To the best of our knowledge this is all original, we have simply cleaned it prior to re-assembling and will re-wire with customers choice of flex before PAT testing. This lamp is very heavy and unsuitable for wall mounting, purely a desk/bench lamp.
