Vintage Mid C20th Singer Machinists Chairs with backs.

Height adjustable.

Having restored and sold a number of Singer stools over the years, recently we have found it harder to source useable sets. This set of four was sourced from the re-location of a local Somerset marquee manufacturing company, they have seen at least fifty years service.

The ply was looking tired but, like the surface rust to the cast iron bases, this was salvegable. The metal parts have been painstakingly burnished then sealed. The original ply wood moulded seats and curved backs have been sanded and re-oiled and the whole thing suddenly comes back to life with a real smile on it's face. Plenty of work but well worth the effort.

The seats are adjustable between a standard seat height of 45cm , upwards (steplessly) to a child-friendly 54cm making them ideal for mixed height dinner guests!

Comfortable, adjustable and quite lovely, these faboulous chairs will outlive you and me and always be a sound investment.
