MILK GLASS SHADES, PORCELAIN RISE & FALL MECHANISMS

Milk glass shades from the 1950's featuring an unusual fluted shape have been paired with vintage porcelain rise and fall mechanisms which echo their shape. New antique brass galleries and earthed, switched lamp holders have replaced the original bakelite fittings which were too brittle to re-use.

This identical pair have been re-wired with a generous length of black cloth covered twisted flex allowing for height adjustment by gently pulling the counter-weight to raise the lamp, ideal by a favourite chair or as a bedside lamp. The opaque milk glass shades provide soft illumination without glare.
