MID CENTURY PRESCOTT PERPETUAL CALENDAR CLOCK SOLID HARDWOOD WITH BRASS FITTINGS |
||||
Sizeable Mid Century wall clock & perpetual calendar, probably from a bank, building society or municipal building. A stylish combination of polished hardwood (Teak we think)with faceted brass hands, teardrop shaped numerals and the 'PRESCOTT' makers logo (The Prescott Clock & Watch company was incorporated in 1925 in Clerkenwell, London and dissoved in the late 1980's). Hand operated calendar adjusted by turning knurled brass knobs on the side. The day, date and month appear in perspex trimmed windows. Originally electrical, the clock has been retro-fitted with battery operated quartz movement. There are two mirror plates on the back of the frame for wall fixing, or it could stand on a shelf as it is deep enough to be self-supporting.
