A pair of 1940's/50's cased milk glass shades with original copper galleries.

New old stock, ex military stores.

Its a pleasure to come across items so close to home, this pair of milk glass shades are the last of a large consignment of N.O.S lamps being cleared from a local barracks where they had languished unused for over 60 years.

The octagonal faceted galleries are particularly attractive, concealing a ceramic lamp holder (standard BC). A trio of knurled knobs allow a shaped insert to clamp onto the flange of the cased glass shade.

We have carefully cleaned and very lightly polished one gallery to show off its shape to best effect, the other has been left exactly as found with its military stores label attached but will be cleaned to match.

We think that the patina they have acquired is particularly attractive but we can polish them to a brighter copper finish if the buyer prefers they will also be wired up with a choice of coloured vintage style flex..
