ILSE AMMONSEN MID CENTURY OIL LAMP PAIR SOLID POLISHED BRASS, DANISH DAPROMA DESIGN |
||||
Minimalist pair of oil lamps designed in the late 1950's by Ilse Ammonsen for Daproma Design, handmade in Denmark. Weighty base with pared back gimbal design, held on a height adjustable stand. Off-set concave base mirrors the convex counterweight 'plumb'. Polished brass construction, these lamps hold their wicks in the cyclindrical candle like reservoirs anchored by a sprung clip, the gimbal joint compensates for any movement if used on board a boat, or placed on an uneven surface. An elegant and safe alternative to a candlestick, sold with a bottle of clear lamp oil.
