Vintage three legged galvanised milking stools.

Rustic design in rivited steel

A collection of five sturdy miking stools thought to date from the 1920's/30's before the advent of automated milking parlours. Robustly constructed from riveted and galvanised steel these have all the knocks, bumps and patination one would expect after a lifetime of service.

Each stool differs slightly in design but features similar curved and folded legs attached to a circular seat, a triangular support adds strength and stability.

Each has a number of drainage holes to the top, which may have been used to fix a wooden top in place to add to the comfort (see image below courtesy of Getty Images).

Simple beauty in utility, these stools make great occasional tables anywhere in the home adding a touch of rustic industrial style. These are all sourced within the UK, and differ in design from the American stools of the same era which tend to feature tubular rather than folded steel legs.

We have two pairs of matching height, ideal as bedside tables, the fifth stool is a little lower.
