Trio of low Gothic style antique cast iron stools.

Machinist style, floor fixed pedestals.

We were told by the gentleman from whom we bought these stools that they were salvaged from a station waiting room and had sat in his garden shed ever since. We cannot verify this story; they look like school room stools to us, which would account for the slightly differing heights.

Each stool sits on a heavy cast pedestal base with floor fixing holes and a curious bone shaped slot on each side (possibly to accomodate a connecting bar). The backs are poker straight to prevent slouching, with pleasing trefoil shaped ends which support the wooden back rests. The back rests and seats are very weathered and have obviously sat outside for a while .

These stools would look amazing as part of a Gothic/Halloween window/shop display with bright orange pumpkins.

N.B These are chair height, not suitable as bar stools!
