Antique Burnished iron school hooks with applied brass numbers
Exceptional quality, 'Rd.GREENWAY'
True antique school hooks are a pleasure to restore, we find it is often the smaller details which add character to an interior (poor quality replicas just fall short).
These are amongst the most beautiful hooks we have ever sourced owing to their chunky weight and applied cast brass numerals. Each numeral stands proud of its oval back plate with cloverleaf sides and sits snugly over the heavy gauge wirework hook. Each hook has the makers mark 'GREENWAY' engraved into the back plate as well as 'Rd' indicating a registered design.
Individually and painstakingly hand restored, we strip away many layers of paint (see pics 3 & 4). We then gently burnish and seal the iron parts and finally highlight polish to give the brass numerals a lustrous finish.
