Wooden handle with galvanised cage.

Another versatile inspection lamp featuring a simple tactile banded beech wood handle, galvanised wirework cage with brass wing nut closure and leather hanging loops. It also has a rather ancient iron hook.

Caged inspection lamps were used in garages and factories throughout the UK dating from the 1920's, around the 50's/60's the wooden handles were replaced with cheaper moulded plastic handles. We seek out the wooden handled examples as we find them more appealing to restore..

Having carefully cleaned and re-furbished the original porcelain ES bulb holder we then earthed and rewired with three metres of vintage style braided bright blue flex finishing with a black bakelite style plug (PAT tested).

The long flex enables the lamp to be moved about and hung close to the task in hand, we can also supply a galvanised hanging hook should you wish to use as a pendant lamp.

This lamp is supplied with the decorative 60 watt filament bulbs as shown.
