Black painted iron school hooks with ivory bakelite number plaques

True antique school hooks are a pleasure to restore, we find it is often the smaller details which add character to an interior (poor quality replicas just fall short).

These are amongst the more characterful hooks we have sourced owing to the grooved detail in the casting and square hook end. Each hook has an upright tab with a riveted number inscribed on a ivory bakelite plaque

We have just 8 available, a consecutive run of numbers from 65-72. We like the look of the black chippy paint which we have given a light coat of wax to preserve. We have another 2 sets of this style of hook which we are in the process of polishing, please enquire by email if you require a polished set.

These hooks have a shallow lip a the top where they were fixed to a flat steel bar (see last pic). We have found that they can be simply screwed onto a reclaimed wooden backboard with the lip hooked over the top to anchor. We have a selection of reclaimed timber backboards that we can include F.O.C with purchases of 4 or more hooks.
