1930's Philips'comparative series of large school maps AFRICA

Another of a large collection of linen backed school maps stamped with a grammer school issue date of 1932.

We have noticed similar modern reproduction school maps hitting the high street, we would encourage investing in authentic originals which will hold their value (and are lower priced to begin with!). Originals are bound to show their age with crumples and creases ink marks and drawing pin holes which are all part of their history.

This Philips' comparative large school map has wonderfully rich colours, the paper has mellowed to a creamy parchment colours. As well as being decorative there are wonderfully evocative names of countries and regions now consigned to history books.

This map is printed in 16 section then linen backed allowing it to be folded for storage. It has brass eyelets for hanging, we can also supply batons which clamp to the top and bottom allowing the map to hang from a single point if required.
