MID CENTURY 1431 MAGNIFYING ANGLEPOISE LAMP
BRASS, STEEL & CHROME WITH POWERFUL LENS
A rare example of an Anglepoise 1431 magnifying lamp designed by George Carwardine for Herbert Terry & Sons, based on the shorter armed (12 inch) industrial 1208 model with riveted elbow joints and larger, weightier cast steel base.
Lightly polished to reveal the attractive combination of metals, flat steel lower arms, elbow joints and lens holder, hollow brass arms, lamp covers, rivets and washers, chromed springs. Magnifying lens is in perfect condition, evenly illuminated by the twin bulbs. Fitted it with SBC candle bulbs, LED replacements are also available. Black Bakelite handles each side allow precise positioning of the lens.
