Mid century chrome pedestal mirror
With articulated illuminatation .
This circular mirror is an ideal size for shaving or applying make up aided by perfect illumination. The mirror pivots on a chrome bracket mounted on a rectangular pedestal, the chrome plated brass has been carefully polished and is in good condition with a minimal amount of pitting.
The circular bevelled mirror is very good quality but displays a moderate amount of foxing, a bayonet lamp holder is positioned behind a frosted glass circular insert ensuring a soft, flattering and even light. The lamp has the added benefit of preventing the mirror fogging whilst illuminated.
On the rectangular chromed base there is a shallow indentation possibly used to house a shaving stand or brush. There is also a knurled nut at the front which serves no apparent purpose but may have been used to secure the mirror to a wall bracket of some sort.
The quality of this item becomes even more apparent when you feel its weight, it is very similar to a 'Miraphor Brot' we sold previously (although it bears no makers plaque). We have re-wired the lamp with black cloth covered flex, it is supplied PAT tested with a black vintage style plug.
* This is an antique item and will not meet current regulations for use in wet areas such as bathrooms but ideal for dressing table use.
