Edwardian vintage Foot's Patent Adapta Table.
Adjustable table, easel, stand, desk in burnished iron and timber.
A wonderful surviver from the Edwardian era, this Foot's Adapta table would have been invaluable to all those incapacitated by the Great War. Ideal for the bed ridden it could be positioned and adjusted to the ideal height for a variety of activities, as the period advertisement below suggests. Constructed from heavy cast iron it manages to be sturdy and yet decorative at the same time. Four ball and claw feet give stability, the rear two mounted on castors for ease of movement. The table surface is veneered hardwood (possibly Mahogany) which can be tilted to the ideal angle for the activity at hand by pushing down the button on top of the upright. Brass clips keep your periodical/ manuscript/score anchored in place, whilst an additional round wooden stand allows a lamp to be positioned to illuminate your work.
