Vintage pair of Bankers lamps. Polished shades, copper arms on cast iron bases.

It's lovely to find a matching pair of lamps, as they offer the possibility of creating symmetry on your desk top or bedside tables.

This pair of bankers lamps are identical save for a small piece of brass trim on the base of the stem of one. We would date them to the 1940's/50's, certainly the first half of the 20th century. They are simple yet elegant in design with a pivoting shade to direct the light exactly where you need it.

We acquired them with several layers of old paint which we carefully removed to expose the steel shade, coppered brass arms and cast iron bases with brass details. They have been given a gentle polish to highlight the mixed metal components. The painted interiors of the shades have been left as found for contrast.

These lamps accept a standard bayonet (BC) bulb, are re-wired with black twisted cloth covered cable,with working on/off switches on the base and are PAT tested.
