Early vintage polished steel cabinet.
Brass drawer pulls, tapered feet.
An early example of the ever popular multi drawer cabinet on tapered legs. This one has a high zinc content to the steel showing as lovely patination, particularly to the sides.
The drawer pulls with integral name plates are brass with remains of chrome plating. They are riveted in place lending extra character to the drawers where traces of the original paint remains.
The inside of the cabinet is the original Khaki green and in a clean condition, ready for stationary, paperwork etc. Each drawer comfortably accommodates an A4 sheet of paper and is approx 5cm deep.
We prefer to finish our polished steel items with a layer of air-drying oil based sealant followed by a couple of coats of wax, a more forgiving finish than lacquer which is brittle and prone to scratching. Additional layers of wax polish can be added occasionally to maintain the finish.
We have a pair of these available, ideal if you want to create a symmetrical interior arrangement.
£250 each/£450 the pair.
